Sarah’s Journey
- Sarah was an accomplished executive at a rising biotechnology startup. As the Head of R&D, she had been instrumental in the company’s product development phase and had become the CEO’s trusted right hand. She was respected, relied upon, and secure in her role as the company’s informal number two.
- But as the company transitioned from product development to commercial revenue, things began to change. The CEO started spending more time with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who was now spearheading the company’s crucial next phase. Sarah found herself feeling sidelined and struggled with the shift in dynamics.
- In response, she became increasingly disruptive, challenging the VP of Sales and Marketing at every turn. Unbeknownst to her, she was trying to reclaim her perceived status within the company. It was as if she had suddenly lost her position as the favored child and couldn’t understand why.
- This is where ‘A Clear Idea’ stepped in. Through our coaching program, Sarah embarked on a journey of self-realization. She came to understand the natural transitions that occur as companies evolve, and how her role was inevitably changing as the company moved into its new phase.
- Most importantly, she recognized how her behaviors were not just damaging the company’s commercial efforts but also tarnishing her hard-earned reputation. With this newfound clarity, Sarah was able to let go of her need to be the CEO’s go-to person and instead focus on contributing positively to the company’s growth.
